The Balé of the City of São Paulo opens the season of Dances and Chimeras in the Municipal Theater of São Paulo. Composed by 3 choreographies, being two premieres, the group will pay tribute to the British artist David Bowie.
The first of the series of choreographies presented on the stage of the Municipal will be Deranged. Choreographer Chris Haring was inspired by the song I'm Deranged, composed by David Bowie in partnership with musician and producer Brian Eno in 1995. For Trovador, the Brazilian Alessandro Pereira, choreographer residing at the Company Dance Theater of Denmark in Copenhagen, was inspired by the figure of the troubadour who expressed himself through the creation and interpretation of poetic compositions in antiquity. Adastra, by the choreographer Cayetano Soto, is inspired by the personal struggle of each one in the search of an impossible dream. Still within the second season, the company features the epilogue - An Icon - named after David Bowie, with small choreographic interventions inspired by the world of composition Space Oddity and the references of the Glam Rock era.
